Ubii, the lead fintech company in Venezuela, has raised $4.5 million in a funding round that will ensure their growth by providing innovative products adapted to the market’s needs
Founded in 2016, Ubii focuses on financial inclusion and development of next generation payment solutions for people and businesses. This is the first time the company has raised capital.
“We are very happy with the investment in our business model. As Venezuelan entrepreneurs, it gives us great pride that investors betting on fintech development in Venezuela have trusted our company”, says Ramón Velásquez Gaspard, CEO and founder of the company.
“This round will allow us to invest in the acquisition of new users, working capital and the integration of new talent that will pave the way for new products and strengthen our payment infrastructure”.
Ubii is a fintech that provides Venezuelans with financial inclusion and payment solutions. The company’s app gives Venezuelan residents the possibility of making local payments and offers immigrants abroad the advantage of sending money in Bolivars back home to their families.
The company is also an asset to the corporate sector as it has developed solutions that differ from traditional financial offers by adding value through the use of technology.
Ubii is one of the few companies in the market to count with a license issued by the Venezuelan Superintendency of Banks (SUDEBAN) that allows them to issue payment cards and process financial transactions. Ubii is also a member of Mastercard and Visa in Venezuela. A part of its B2B services offer is focused on the provision of payment cards for banks, fintechs, cryptocurrency exchangers, airlines, retailers and any other company that wants to provide added value to their customers.
